Position Purpose- Medical Assistants are inspirations to patients and their families, and to other members of the medical team! Every day they influence people's lives with their exceptional skills and compassion for others. They contribute to a positive health care experience for patients and are instrumental in helping patients feel at ease in the physician's office and clinical setting. They serve as a patient liaison to explain the physician's instructions, educate patients through written instructions and answer questions as directed by the provider.

Salary Range: $18.99 - $27.10/hour or $32,114 to $52,565/year (based on 40 hours worked per week and years of experience).

Hours per week: Available positions include flex, part time and full time. Please list your preferences in the questions below so we can match you with a position that fits your schedule.

Position/Location Details: We have numerous Medical Assistant opportunities at Children's Hospital Colorado and have multiple locations you can choose from! Our campuses include Anschutz (Aurora), South Campus (Highlands Ranch), North Campus (Broomfield), and Uptown Clinic (Denver). Qualifications:

Medical Assistant

  • EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited/certified Medical Assistant program.
  • EXPERIENCE - None
  • EQUIVALENCY - One year of experience in a direct health care role may substitute for graduation from a Medical Assistant program.
  • CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR.

Medical Assistant Sr.

  • EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • EXPERIENCE - One year in a direct health care role.
  • EQUIVALENCY - Additional one year of experience in a direct health care role may substitute for graduation from a Medical Assistant program. Total experience requirement without graduation from a Medical Assistant program is two years of experience in a direct health care role.
  • CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR and certification as a Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, National Certified Medical Assistant, Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.

Job Highlights:

  • Medical assistants are essential members of the patient-centered medical team and directly support patient care by assisting health care providers, collaborating with patients and families in implementing plan of care as directed by the Care Team, and promoting patient safety and well-being.
  • Medical assistants are cross trained to perform administrative and clinical duties.
    • Clinical duties can include explaining treatment procedures to patients, instructing patients about medication and special diets, preparing and administering medications, and performing basic lab tests.
    • Administrative duties may consist of updating and filing patient medical records, coding and filling out insurance forms and scheduling appointments.
