Description
Summary of Position/Purpose: The Vice President of Product Management will be responsible for the strategic direction and execution of our test & measurement distribution and environmental chambers businesses. This role will oversee product planning, development, lifecycle management, as well as revenue growth, gross margin management, and overall profitability. By combining strategic thinking, market insight, and strong leadership, the Vice President of Product Management will play a crucial role in driving the success of both our test & measurement distribution and environmental chambers businesses. Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive product strategies for both the test & measurement distribution and environmental chambers businesses, aligning with the overall company goals.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in both the test & measurement and environmental chambers markets.
- Product Portfolio Management: Manage the entire product portfolio for both businesses, including new product development, product lifecycle management, and product discontinuation.
- Product Planning (Environmental Chambers): Define product requirements, features, and specifications for environmental chambers based on market research, customer feedback, and technical feasibility.
- Product Development (Environmental Chambers): Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, sales, marketing, etc.) to ensure timely and efficient product development for environmental chambers.
- Product Launch: Develop and execute effective product launch plans for both test & measurement and environmental chambers, including marketing campaigns, sales enablement, and channel partner engagement.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Monitor product performance, gather customer feedback, and make necessary adjustments to optimize product lifecycle for both test & measurement and environmental chambers.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of product managers, providing guidance and support to achieve business objectives for both test & measurement and environmental chambers.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage product-level budgets for both test & measurement and environmental chambers, ensuring profitability and return on investment.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners in both the test & measurement and environmental chambers markets to understand their needs and drive product adoption.
- Sales Channel Optimization: Drive sales through our multichannel approach, including digital channels, VMI programs, and a traditional sales team. Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop effective go-to-market strategies and ensure alignment across channels.
- Revenue Growth: Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth for both the test & measurement and environmental chambers businesses.
- Gross Margin Management: Optimize gross margin through pricing strategies, cost control, and product mix management.
- Profitability: Ensure overall profitability of the businesses by managing expenses, maximizing revenue, and improving operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in product management, preferably in the test & measurement industry with experience in environmental chambers.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and launching new products in both the test & measurement and environmental chambers markets.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer needs in both the test & measurement and environmental chambers markets.
- Demonstrated experience in revenue growth, gross margin management, and profitability.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with distribution channels and channel partner management would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of key manufacturers in the test & measurement industry, such as Keysight, Tektronix, Rohde & Schwarz, Siglent, and Fluke, is essential.
- A strong understanding of the regulatory landscape and compliance requirements for both test & measurement products and environmental chambers.
