Summary of Position



The Research Coordinator will work within the Child Maltreatment Prevention Lab, led by Dr. Julia Kobulsky. The individual will perform a high level of independent research and coordination activities, including the planning, scheduling, administration, and direction of research activities. They will adhere to and assist with the development of project guidelines and protocols and will participate in project planning, implementation, and presentations. Primary responsibilities will be split across two NICHD-funded projects, with the individual devoting 25% of their effort to the New Foundations project (a measurement development study about adolescent neglect) and 75% of their time to the Never Again project (a mixed methods study examining child sexual abuse recurrence). The position is for 2-years, contingent on available funds and performance.





Essential Functions of Position



* Assist with research-related functions, including conducting literature review, managing references, managing qualitative and quantitative data, development of research materials and research proposals, and publication/presentation of dissemination products.

* Apply base data management and processing knowledge to assist with the creation of geospatial measures and the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.

* Coordinate team meetings (scheduling, agenda-setting, and maintaining minutes).

* Creation of website and community-facing recruitment materials.

* Oversight of participant recruitment, informed consent, and data collection.

* Preparation of administrative reports.

* Manage processing of project-related expenses.

* Provide direction to student workers.

Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant research or equivalent educational experience.



D. Other Pertinent Data:



Required skills and abilities

*Excellent communicator with ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

*Strong data management and processing capabilities including familiarity with online survey platforms and proficiency with spreadsheet programs (e.g., Microsoft excel), coding languages, and data transformations.

*Basic knowledge and working proficiencies in data analysis, both qualitative and quantitative.

*Strong writing and oral presentation abilities, including experience with scholarly dissemination.

*Knowledge of research ethics and ability to strictly adhere to ethical protocols. CITI-certified or eligible.

*Ability to problem solve and work independently, in collaboration with and with the support of the investigative team.

Preferred

*Spanish language fluency.

*Experience or interest in substantive areas of child maltreatment, trauma, and/or child welfare systems.

*Experience with geocoding, working with spatial and surveillance data, and using R and ArcGIS or QGIS.

Experience with Redcap or similar research workflow system.

*Cultural competence and sensitivity in working with low income and/or marginalized/vulnerable populations.
