What You'll Do in This Position

Purpose of Position

The Industrial Hygienist will provide daily industrial hygiene support to programmatic and facility organizations to ensure the protection of workers and compliance with SRNS requirements. This position will use professional concepts to resolve issues and will collaborate with the work force in developing solutions to complex problems that require in-depth analysis of work activities and data. The Industrial Hygienist promote safety, security, and quality in all operations, exercise prudent fiscal and promotes teamwork within the organization. They will promote a positive work environment and deliver exceptional customer service. Under supervision of more senior personnel, this position is an opportunity for a motivated, innovative, and customer focused professional to support an established Team and grow within the Safety and Health organization. This position may assist in the training of less experienced Industrial Hygiene staff.

Major Responsibilities

Provide daily industrial hygiene support to construction projects, programmatic and/or facility organizations to ensure the protection of workers and compliance with Savannah River Site procedures that will ensure mission success.

Implement programs and procedures associated with the recognition, measurement, evaluation, and control of potential health and safety hazards to resolve complex issues.

Collaborate with the work force in developing solutions to complex industrial hygiene problems that require in-depth analysis of work activities and data.

Promote safety, security, quality and teamwork within the organization and across the Savannah River Site.

Promotes a positive work environment and deliver exceptional customer service.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications We Require

High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential

Qualifications We Desire

* Associate degree in a science related degree and technical work experience in a field such as IH/Safety and Health or Radiological Control
* B.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related physical or biological science, or special studies and training in these disciplines and related experience.
