What You'll Do in This Position

Develop and/or review of routine work packages including written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance or modification work activities within a given area. May include separately or in conjunction with work control development, recommendations and instruction for mechanical, electrical, radiological and chemical energy and systems control lockout and tagout, and/or resolving work package restraints and bringing work packages to final closure. Routine variety of work content with limited complexity and difficulty.

Prepare, review and issue equipment and/or system modification work packages in accordance with applicable procedures, DOE orders and regulations. This would include the review, understanding and interpretation of various engineering, design, technical and vendor prints, drawings, schematics, documents, diagrams and specifications to ensure design information sufficient to develop modifications for electrical/mechanical systems. Development may also include a physical walkdown of the area or system to identify potential hazardous conditions or configuration anomalies. Analyze time and material requirements for work activity. Prepare detailed material takeoffs/specifications for Bill of Materials and work activity labor estimates. Track and expedite priority of Fragnet work packages. Prepare, review and issue corrective maintenance work packages. Responsibilities identical to the above, packages would be prepared in response to structures, systems or components that have failed or are suspected of being in the process of failing. Develop step-by-step instructions for the work activity. Develop and issue preventive maintenance records and work packages. Fundamentally identical to the above, packages would be developed in response to a periodic and predetermined maintenance schedule. Develop step-by-step instructions for the work activity. Prepare and/or review efficient and specific instructions for the isolation, containment or deenergization of various mechanical, physical, electrical, chemical energy systems or radiological sources according to established procedures, DOE orders and regulations relating to minimization of potential hazards. Perform various functional and administrative activities in conjunction with the primary work control/work package development. This may include, permit development, testing requirements, documentation generation, records management, database information management, retrieval and review, and training along with other areas specific to the department or division in which the position exists. Discuss and interface on problems and concerns with associated work control/work package activity with site organizations. May be accomplished in person or through other means to provide further interpretation and explanation or necessary authorization to proceed or modify existing work package instructions.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications We Desire

Associates degree in business, construction management, engineering or other related area. Experience in planning and scheduling, work control or related areas preferred. Thorough knowledge and understanding of project management, project planning, and cost control at the tactical level is desirable, along with a knowledge of operations, maintenance, or project startup and construction. Knowledge of materials planning, time and cost estimating, as well as experience or aptitude in computers and computer project planning and controls software. Thorough understanding of the capabilities of computerized equipment for storing, compiling, manipulation and retrieving schedule, materials or financial data.
