What You'll Do in This Position

A significant contributor involved with the effective programs development management for uncovering, assessing, developing and exploiting new missions and technology available at SRS in support of Transition and Reconfiguration efforts. The results will result in new missions, mission changes or a broad range of options which range from stimulating the start-up of new businesses and establishing new programs at SRS.

Assist in the management of the process for uncovering, evaluating, recommending, product/business/technology development and the implementation thereof with respect to facilities, personnel and other SRS initiatives. Promote projects at SRS, within the DOE complex, and in the commercial and university segments of the U.S. economy, and internationally. Assist with the implementing and start-up management and support for the output from the above process. Provide guidance for the need for additional technical support requirements. Significantly involved with the program management of these new program initiatives for a period of up to one or more years. Consolidate all related budget and documentation requirements to justify and obtain finding for these programs and to manage their implementation. Assist in providing the marketing for SRS technical capabilities, diversification, and derivative programs. Analyze activities and new opportunities to assist with the development of new initiatives for the efficient and effective accomplishment of new initiatives.

SRNS' NNSA Operations & Programs operates the Tritium program where the nation's only facilities for extracting, recycling, purifying, and loading tritium, a radioactive isotope of hydrogen that is a key element of modern nuclear weapons are located. The Tritium program supports five tritium and gas transfer system-related missions on behalf of NNSA: tritium supply, stockpile maintenance, stockpile evaluation, helium-3 recovery, and research and development (R&D).

The Tritium Program Manager position is a liaison role and is responsible for interfacing and communicating between local and Headquarter Federal personnel and SRNS employees on all details relative to the Program being managed. Program Management is highly relationship-based; thus, oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and organization are important. The responsibilities of a Program Manager include, but are not limited to, interfacing with operations and engineering to understand facility scope, developing/tracking SRNS performance milestones; developing presentations and communiques for stakeholders detailing funding requirements, scope and schedule; developing five-year and annual budgets; understanding variances between current year budget vs. actuals; and monthly and annual reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Travel is required.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Masters degree in a technical area with broad experience in engineering, operations, marketing, strategic and business planning or MBA with a technical undergraduate degree with experience described above.
