What You'll Do in This Position

Scope technical tasks and develop creative solutions to assigned problems. Begin using SRNS systems and meeting all SRNS requirements with minimal supervisory guidance. Accept complex tasks and receives minimal guidance from senior professionals.

Incorporate conventional quality assurance engineering or scientific practices and a variety of complex features such as enhanced quality requirements, application or new or special requirements or processes and difficult coordination of oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning. Provide limited guidance and direction to less senior engineering professionals. Provide technical support to site training division on a rotational basis; Provide QA expertise and guidance to the training organization. Design, develop and implement QA training programs based on specific quality engineering principles, special materials and processes; multifacitied and complicated regulatory requirements following training, development, and delivering procedures where only general objectives are stated. Carry out development of qualification programs on tasks concurrent with other phases such as design and fabrication to better evaluate and minimize future quality problems. Develop alternative solutions to existing problems. Perform all detail work necessary to determine best alternatives. Support facility/project needs within assigned area by conducting procedure reviews, work package reviews or procurement document reviews. Evaluate proposals and make recommendations based on proposed programs/tasks in area of assignment. May enlist the help of less senior personnel to accomplish tasks. Prepare assessments on proposed projects/tasks in assigned area. Demonstrate cost and schedule consciousness through timely completion of assigned tasks and projects. Prepare QA procedures, manuals and other documents supporting or publicizing the quality effort. Plan, conduct and report on surveillances, assessments, audits or reviews on quality related activities as assigned. Acquire necessary skill and certifications to accomplish surveillances, assessments and audits. Develop working knowledge of organizations and management systems to facilitate CQF efficiency and service. Develop TQ initiatives within the group. May perform other duties as assigned.

Additional responsibilities may include planning, conducting, and reporting on surveillances, assessments, audits, and corrective action effectiveness reviews. The candidate will possess the necessary skills, qualifications, and experience to accomplish assigned tasks.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential

Qualifications We Desire

A college degree with quality assurance, quality control or engineering experience in the fields of operations, maintenance, construction or industrial manufacturing

Experience performing audits, assessment, issue investigations, or corrective action effectiveness reviews.

The candidate must have the technical aptitude in order to comprehend and evaluate specifications, engineering standards, work procedures in a complex manufacturing type setting.
