Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in patient care and clinical excellence?

We're looking for an experienced, passionate Clinical Manager to join our renowned Glaucoma Division with the Department of Ophthalmology's Jules Stein Eye Institute. Working closely with the Clinic Director, Division Chief, and Practice Manager, you'll oversee a talented team and ensure seamless operations in a fast-paced outpatient clinic.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise administrative and clinical staff to support outstanding patient service; perform training, performance evaluations, and counseling actions
  • Oversee thevisual field and imaging laboratories
  • Coordinate operations for at least six full-time faculty members, fellows, optometrists, residents, and specialized labs
  • Prepare staff work schedules, including MDs
  • Provide essential clinical, technical, and administrative backup, includingspecial assistance and services as needed for VIPs and POIs
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies for patient examination rooms and laboratories
  • Offer problem-solving guidance and process improvements to deliver high-quality patient care and service

Salary Range:$32.95-$67.53 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Certification as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience providing technical support in an Ophthalmology practice.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology of visual systems.
  • Familiarity with signs and symptoms of various ophthalmic problems to answer patient-related questions and triage calls when urgent evaluation is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and physicians to promote comfortable, cooperative and effective working relationships with patients, physicians and staff.
  • Familiarity with computerized patient appointment scheduling system.
  • Ability to organize technician work schedules for continuous coverage.
  • Flexibility in adapting to new assignments.
  • Skill in organizing work systems and prioritizing work.
  • Ability to collaborate with Practice Manager in problem solving and implementing new and continuing patient care systems.
