Staff Research Associate I - Semel Institute

The Semel Insititute is seeking to hire a full time Staff Research Assistant of the Principal Investigator and the Assistant Adjunct Professor, the SRA I provide technical support to members of the research team on number of projects from the lab and in collaboration with outside investigators.

Main duties of this role include:

• managing mouse colonies (mouse weaning, biopsy the mice by ear punch after weaning, genotyping).
• sectioning mouse brains and performing immunostaining.
• Intracranial stereotaxic injections.
• Coordinating or running standard fear-related behavioral tests.

Required:

• Working experience in a laboratory setting for at least a year.
• High motivation and positive attitude.
• Willingness to work as part of a dynamic and active disease-oriented research team in an academic setting.

Preferred:

• B.A or B.S or higher degrees in life sciences field.
• Working experience in neuroscience, with mouse handling experience.
• Basic histology skills.
