Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. This position studies the role of mTOR kinase in growth control and anticancer mechanisms. Postdoctoral Fellows are expected to establish an innovative, collaborative research program addressing important and fundamental questions. Interdisciplinary and translational approaches are encouraged.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Conducts multidisciplinary research in the area of the role of mTOR kinase in growth control and anticancer mechanisms, including in vitro and in vivo models.
- Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
- Prepares manuscripts and grant proposals based on the research conducted.
- Gives oral presentations of the research.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Understands, demonstrates and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey core values.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers's compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Interest policy.
- Acts as a role model for corporate integrity, customer service and improved quality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Experience with cell culture and molecular/cell biology techniques is essential.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Must have first authored publications in high impact scientific journals.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Recent Ph.D. or in the process of completing training for Ph.D. graduate degree in Biomedical or Life Sciences is preferred.
- Experience with mouse work is a plus.
