Rutgers Global is the university-wide international affairs office, serving all three campuses and
RBHS. Comprised of seven offices, Rutgers Global promotes and advances Rutgers as a globally engaged institution through study and service-learning abroad programs, immigration processing and academic support services to international students and scholars, international partnership facilitation, and design and support of on-campus and virtual events that address global topics and create cross-cultural social networks. With over 180 programs in 50 countries, Rutgers Global - Study Abroad, a part of Rutgers Global, directly enrolls approximately 800 students and has a total annual budget of over $8 million. Operating much like an undergraduate college of the University, the office is responsible for recruitment, admission, retention, academic support, teaching, assessment, and the functions of offices of student life, housing, counseling, and recreation. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Accounting Assistant I for the Office of Global Education.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Administers RGSA' s financial and human resources activities (Accounting, internal university transactions, HCM/Banner, Absence Reporting system etc.).
- Assists with over 100 study abroad program pricing, billing and reconciliation, the RGSA office administration budget, and periodic reconciliation of foreign bank accounts.
- Assists with tasks related with annual budgeting processing for RGSA and Rutgers Global.
- Prepares data and internal financial reports for RGSA and Rutgers Global.
- Helps to deliver great services to clients (students, their families, staff and faculty), such as billing, financial aid, and scholarship issues to students, their families and relevant program information and training to staff and faculty, as part of the RGSA business team.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two (2) years of professional experience with accounting and/or business operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Effective organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs.
- Some experience in preparation of written informational materials; group training or presentations; and customer relations.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a field related to management of data and/or financial records.
- Three years of related experience.
- Experience with international education.
- Familiarity with Rutgers' online accounting and purchasing systems, including OFIS, Marketplace and all Cornerstone application.
- Prior experience calculating and understanding international currency exchange rate.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skil.
- An active interest in foreign cultures and languages for effective communication with foreign national clients and for added enjoyment of the job.
