Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Fellow position is to conduct independent laboratory research under the direction of the principal investigator. The research interest of the Feng lab is to study the development and progression of cancer, including cancer metastasis, cancer metabolic reprogramming and tumor microenvironment. Specific research directions in the lab include: 1) the regulation and function of tumor suppressor p53 and its gain-of-function mutants in cancer; 2) the role of tumor suppressors, including p53 and its target genes, in tumor microenvironment and tumor immunology.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
- Works under the direction of the principal investigator.
- Carries out various experimental and bioinformatics studies in the area of 1) the regulation and function of tumor suppressor p53 and its gain-of-function mutants in cancer; 2) the role of tumor suppressors, including p53 and its target genes, in tumor microenvironment and tumor immunology.
- Prepares written reports of research experiments.
- Prepares grant proposals based on research conducted.
- Gives oral presentations of the research.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Postdoctoral Fellow candidate should have a new or recent PhD degree and strong background in molecular biology and cancer biology.
ABD candidates may be considered, qualified candidates must be in the process of completing or have finished the training for Ph.D. and/or M.D.

- Candidates must provide proof all requirements have been fulfilled before their position start date. Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is also essential.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
