Job Description We are seeking a dynamic Merchandise Manager for our furniture category within the home division. In this entrepreneurial role, you will have the opportunity to enhance the customer experience while driving profitability for our organization.
What You'll Do: As a Merchandise Manager, you'll play a crucial role in developing and managing various merchandising and product development activities within the furniture category. You will collaborate closely with the Divisional Merchandising Manager and furniture merchandising team to ensure our product lines are profitable and aligned with our brand vision. In addition, you'll: *Drive Product Development: Lead the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring our furniture offerings meet customer expectations while reflecting quality and design excellence. *Create Compelling Merchandise Assortments: Develop assortments for multiple brands based on sales data and market trends that align with brand strategies, showcasing your innovative thinking and proactive approach. *Optimize Financial Performance: Utilize your strong financial acumen to analyze sales performance and profitability metrics, transforming data into actionable insights that drive merchandising decisions. *Foster Collaboration: Share product ideas with divisional leaders and work collaboratively across departments to meet the specific needs of the furniture category. *Conduct Market Research: Stay attuned to consumer preferences by managing research on market trends and competitor offerings, helping to identify new opportunities. *Engage in Strategic Discussions: Participate in high-level discussions that shape our business strategy, applying your understanding of the furniture market to drive effective solutions and communicate the narrative behind financial results.
Qualifications To be successful, you should have experience in direct mail order, retail, or internet sales. We're looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, strong organizational skills, and a solid merchandising perspective, along with a proven track record in product development. Ideally, you'll have a bachelor's degree in business administration, retail consumer science, marketing, or a related field. In addition, we are looking for: *A creative individual who can develop merchandising strategies and bring furniture products to life. *5+ years of merchandising, marketing, financial, and general business knowledge, specifically related to furniture. *Strong research and analytical skills to identify and capitalize on business opportunities. *The ability to translate financial data into compelling narratives that guide decision-making. *A proactive approach to planning, with an ability to think ahead over a 1 to 5-year horizon. *Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and lead complex projects to completion. *A demonstrated ability to lead teams and achieve positive results through collaboration. *A solid understanding of integrated business processes and their interrelationships. We value collaboration and believe that it often happens best in-person. All members of the Merchandising team are required to work onsite at our Monroe, WI Design Center.
