Job Description

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

The Grounds Maintenance Equipment Operator will assist operations multiple functions as directed by the grounds maintenance supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Operate heavy equipment, such as: motor grader, dozer, backhoe, loader, skid loader, tractor, packer, truck and trailer.
  • Assist in grading and road maintenance for all farms.
  • Assist in lagoon repairs.
  • Assist in pulling stuck trucks (feed/live animal haul) during storms.
  • Snow plowing during winter months.
  • Mowing and weed eating during summer months.
  • Plumbing repairs throughout operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:



  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or 1-3 months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred. Ability to write simple correspondence preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required.
  • Bilingual, Spanish and English preferred but not necessary.


SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust.
