Job Summary:

The Marketing Development Representative (MDR) seeks out new business opportunities by developing relationships with inbound leads created by our marketing initiatives and warm calls with engaged contacts to create connections with potential clients. In addition to converting leads generated from marketing campaigns, the MDR conducts research to identify new contacts, helps drive registration for events and webinars, sets appointments for Account Executives traveling out in the field, and drives meetings with target accounts during sponsored events.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Gain a deep understanding of inbound and outbound marketing programs, how leads are sourced, and move through system, along with knowledge of tactics that help re-engage stale leads.
  • Contribute customer and sales insight to help with the creation of campaigns and initiatives that increase lead volume and revenue conversion for the business.
  • Qualify leads from marketing initiatives to convert as many as possible into sales opportunities.
  • Generate new business through identifying, prospecting, and targeting leads within our contact database.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities and contacts in the market through research leveraging available tools (SalesNavigator, ZoomInfo, Demandbase Intent, etc.).
  • Execute account-based outbound prospecting by developing personalized cadences that incorporate the latest B2B best practices.
  • Schedule meetings, calls or demos between prospective clients and Account Executives.
  • Consistently achieve targeted quota for new pipeline created.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our product offerings and industry through self-directed learning and shadowing colleagues.
  • Understand the customer audience and role personas that we sell into, to maximize relevancy within your sales pitch.
  • Participate in the development of new sales strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Minimum Job Requirements:



  • BS or BA degree in business or related field; or 4 years of applicable sales experience.
  • 2+ years of sales and industry experience in B2B sales of technology solutions or food & beverage manufacturing industry experience is preferred
  • Some proven success with prospecting and selling skills to land new accounts
  • Highly self-motivated with competitive drive
  • Excellent phone communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Experience using a CRM such as Salesforce strongly preferred, experience with Account Based Marketing and LinkedIn Sales Navigator a plus
  • Must be willing to learn and adapt as necessary to accommodate changes in industry and company directions
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be a positive team player, willing to grow and change
  • Occasional travel required for department meetings, all company events, in-person seminars/networking events, etc.
