POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner is responsible for full life-cycle recruiting, to include using creative sourcing methods (internal and external); screening, interviewing and testing; referring applicants for clerical, technical, administrative and management positions throughout the company; and recommending placement of staff. This position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a high level of trust and integrity. The incumbent possesses an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

o Partners with hiring managers to determine staffing needs.
o Develops advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
o Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, social media, community network events, college informational sessions, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
o Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings.
o Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, non-disclosure agreements, Work Saturdays, etc.).
o Manages candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
o Manages internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.
o Develops and maintains excellent relationships with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals.
o Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance, in conjunction with Sr. HR Business Partner.
o Maintains memberships and affiliations with trade/professional organizations related to industry.
o Conducts Employee Orientation on a bi-weekly basis.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

o Bachelor's degree in a related field.
o At least 7 years of experience in recruiting with at least 2 years in a lead role/capacity. Other management/supervisory experience may be substituted for 'lead' requirement. Experience recruiting within technical and/or biotechnology fields, for such positions as Scientist, Engineers and Research Associates, as well as Sales, Manufacturing and Software Engineering specialists is required.
o SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred. Certification/training in AIRS or other recruiting-based certification is preferred.
o Past experience using ATS and TMS strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

o Strong working knowledge of best practices regarding talent sourcing, employment programs, laws and processes.
o Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills are a must. Strong telephone communication skills required.
o Demonstrated strong customer service skills including detail-orientation and follow-up with hiring managers and candidates.
o Demonstrated ability and confidence for effectively facilitating throughout all levels within an organization and within a variety of mediums and environments.
o Ability to multi-task, handle numerous job openings at one time.
o Ability to manage and schedule workflow with limited supervision; ability to self-direct activities to accomplish projects and tasks within deadlines.
o Demonstrated ability to provide effective mentoring and guidance to team members/recruiting professionals.
o Ability to effectively work with competing priorities and under urgent deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

o Local/regional travel may be required.
o Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
o Extended periods of standing and/or sitting.
o Use of electronic equipment, including computers and telephones, for extended periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

o This position is performed in a traditional office environment.

COMPENSATION SUMMARY

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $85,900. to $131,000. This salary range represents a general guideline as MSD considers other factors when presenting an offer of employment, such as scope and responsibilities of the position, external market factors, and the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, education and experience. Employees may qualify for a discretionary or non-discretionary bonus in addition to their base salary. These annual bonuses are intended to recognize individual performance and enable employees to benefit from the Company's overall success.
