Overview This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with the mandates of pertinent environmental regulations. Implements, supports, and coordinates environmental protection and compliance activities for Jefferson County Power Generation. Typically works under close supervision of plant management and/or experienced plant personnel. Responsibilities
Qualifications Educational Experience Bachelor's degree in environmental science, applied science, or related technical discipline is required. Preferred Qualifications Some professional environmental regulatory and/or technical experience is preferred. Possesses minimal or some knowledge of environmental theories, principles, and practices. Knowledge of power plant operations/equipment preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills. Comfortable with communicating with all stakeholder groups. Ability to use formal training in practical application to work assignments. Able to process data and plant conditions to assess environmental performance, opportunities for improvement, etc. Work Conditions Normal office environment with frequent exposure to power plant equipment, conditions, and operations. Must be able to walk on grating at high elevations. Perform field work when necessary. Expect to be accessible during off hours. Physical Efforts Typical office work. Frequent activity in the plant environment that involves, driving, frequent standing, climbing ladders, or walking. Infrequent lifting of heavy objects such as drums, batteries, etc. Occasional overnight travel may occur. #LG&EKU |
