In this role, the Senior Editor will be responsible for creating, editing and proofreading content across various platforms, including digital (web, social media) and print publications. This position uniquely blends the skills of a marketing copywriter with those of a research reporter, requiring the ability to simplify complex research into clear, accessible narratives that strategically promote the college.

The Senior Editor will craft engaging stories that resonate with diverse audiences, including prospective students, alumni and industry partners. This storytelling will help highlight the college's impact and inspire key stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Senior Editor will provide strategic input and editorial guidance to colleagues, though this role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write, proofread and edit a variety of content for both digital and print platforms.
  • Conduct interviews, take notes and research topics to support content creation.
  • Proactively generate story ideas and identify opportunities for impactful communications.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff and students to produce high-quality content that advances the College of Engineering's strategic goals.
  • Aid with executive communication (Dean, Department Chairs, etc.) to internal and external audiences.
  • This role will occasionally support the development of application materials for awards and recognitions, helping to highlight the achievements of faculty, students and the college.
  • Assist and support team members in content development and editorial tasks.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, creative professional who thrives in a fast-paced academic setting. If you're passionate about storytelling, clear communication, and working in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply.
