Polygraph certification from an American Polygraph Association (APA) accredited school. Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire. Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS - IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA. Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates successfully pass a polygraph examination and background investigation.

Essential Job Tasks (This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.)
Reviews applications, background questionnaires and case reports. Conducts pre-examination interviews. Compiles and prepares the question format for polygraph examinations. Conducts polygraph examinations efficiently and timely. Conducts post-examination interrogation if necessary. Evaluates completed examination graphs and prepares reports. Research case law in reference to each respective examination. Operates, maintains, and calibrate the polygraph equipment. Participates in continuing education and training programs to maintain skills. Provides courtroom testimony if required. Performs other duties/tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Maintains good attendance to perform assigned tasks as scheduled/assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of
Intermediate to advanced level - Microsoft Office Suite applications. Psycho-physiological aspects of polygraph examination. Polygraph techniques, polygraph chart analysis and interpretation, and mechanical and other technical aspects of polygraph examination.
Skill in
Applying strong attention to detail and nuance in reviewing information. Using critical thinking and sound judgment. Analyzing and reviewing tests accurately.
