Purpose of Position

Provides sole administrative support in the daily functions and operations for the Office of Systemwide Information Services.

Essential Functions

  • Administrative lead for Systemwide Information Services (SIS) and System Administration Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS) offices. Maintain budget and reconcile accounts, serve as department time and leave coordinator, book travel arrangements and prepare travel expense reports, annual inventory and expenses. Act as backup and cross train with other administrative staff.
  • Serve as the human resources liaison between the Office of Talent and Innovation and the department, and handle hiring logistics.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and conferences for large groups.
  • Take minutes of meetings and post to appropriate SharePoint site. Coordinate updates for Shared Services SharePoint site.
  • Act as the Oracle and Contracts Administrator for Systemwide Information Services and The Office of Technology and Information Services. Provides administrative support to Executive Director and Chief Information Officer.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of general office practices and administrative procedures.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks and use standard office equipment and software.
Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 7 years of administrative experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within The University of Texas System or higher education.
  • Strong Excel knowledge, contracting experience, SharePoint administration and PeopleSoft experience.
Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Use of manual dexterity.
Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. Participation in TRS is mandatory.

A background check will be conducted on candidates under final consideration. The background check may include any or all of the following: criminal history check, prior employment verification, education verification, professional references check, and motor vehicle records check. Background checks are conducted by third-party vendors. Upon request form the third-party vendor, candidates under final consideration must provide the required information for the background checks to be completed.
