Human Resources Generalist - Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: Leadership support and guidance, recruiting, employee relations, employment law, training, etc.

Supports 6-7 locations in the San Lorenzo lumber market covering the Santa Cruz to Salinas coastline. Needs to be able to visit different locations from day to day based on needs. Will be the main partner to local leadership in support of HR related issues, employment laws, and employee relations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Sources candidates, screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings.
  • Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job related requirements.
  • Conducts new hire orientation.
  • Performs benefit administration to include change reporting and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Conducts benefits orientation to employees.
  • Facilitates and/or provides training to the workforce.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs
  • Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Represents the company for unemployment claims.
  • Other duties may be assigned.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred;
  • Minimum of three years related experience;
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range: $70,000-90,000

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company's active bonus policy for the respective year.
