Job Summary

Job Summary:

The FNS Project Engineer is an experienced "operator without a portfolio" that is flexible for support assignments to prospective, new and existing accounts. As a support resource, the Project Engineer will be assigned by a senior leader (RVP/RDO/VPO) to conduct surveys of potential client facilities, assist on presentations, plan and execute start-ups of new business, audit and/or re-engineer existing accounts, train management or hourly personnel, or perform other operations, program development, teaching, research, or troubleshooting assignments. The Project Engineer must be knowledgeable, experienced and fully fluent in FNS and support service programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully builds relationships at all levels of the client, customer and Company organizations, specifically cultivating relationships with officer level clients
  • Manages multiple business goals and priorities in the best interest of the organization as measured by Client Satisfaction and Client Retention achievements
  • Works closely with the Company's IS Department where/as needed; recommends changes or modifications to the system for consideration
  • Collects and analyzes facility data including, occupancy data etc., develops appropriate staffing levels based on industry standards, company benchmarking and personal experience
  • Identifies and addresses "hot spots" and program issues. Identifies and develops action plans for quality and service issues
  • Implements all TouchPoint programs according to any/all business proposals, Company standard and costing
  • Performs Operations Audits as needed
  • Provides support, training and recommendations to the on-site management team
  • Provides orientation and management training to existing and new management teams. This training will include system application and day-to-day management practices
  • At the discretion of the RVP, provides as needed support including payroll transitions, marketing/ communications, operations, etc. in the area of food service and support services for the Division and the Company
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree preferred; Associate's Degree required, depending on experience
  • Must be willing to travel 90% of the time across the US
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may, at times, include evenings/weekends/holidays or extended schedules such as ten days on/ four days off
  • Must be willing to be very hands on manager
  • Prior FNS management experience at a large volume account or similar setting required
  • Must be based in Chicago, IL or Wichita, KS.
  • Healthcare / Long Term Care food service experience
  • CDM - Certified Dietary Manager
  • FOH and BOH experience
  • P&L or fee account experience
  • Multi-unit level experience is a plus.
