The role:

As the manager of the Loans API & Cyberbank Core team, you will be responsible for bringing new loans and bank core functionality to market and supporting our existing clients while maintaining the availability, performance, and security of our platforms. You will need to balance the needs of our product management team with ongoing technical improvements and need to meet stringent compliance standards. The role requires an engineering leader with cross-functional management skills and an interest in driving excellence in both product and engineering initiatives.

Success in this role looks like creating clear goals for a team from ambiguous options and then executing on those goals.

What you'll do:



  • Be responsible for execution of the team's combined product and technical roadmap, including delivery and operation of services in production
  • Lead by example, care for the team and establish credibility with the quality of the team's technical execution
  • Nurture a culture of continuous process and technology improvement and blameless retrospection within the organization
  • Grow and mentor a team of engineers, building their talents by exposing them to new challenges and experiences
  • Participate in deep technical design discussions within the team, and across partner teams to ensure that we're building the right systems and keeping the quality high
  • Track project performance against defined milestones/goals.
  • Communicate ongoing project health with key stakeholders and business leadership


What you'll need:



  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
  • 5+ years of experience with software development
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Consistent track record of performance management and career development of individual contributors
  • Ability to engage in technical and business discussions from both tactical and strategic viewpoints
  • Experience with operating in Cloud and distributed systems
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery principles and techniques
  • Experience with DevOps and full ownership of services from development to production
  • Ability to balance delivering on business objectives while also protecting the long term quality of platform
  • Experience leading cross-organizational efforts with different teams to ensure successful delivery of projects


Nice to have:



  • Expertise building and deploying software using cloud services and AWS platforms including VPCs, ECS/EKS, etc.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments such as FinTech
