Job Summary The Water School encourages nominations for and applications from qualified individuals with research and teaching interests in environmental geology. Although we seek a broadly trained geologist, we especially welcome applicants with expertise in structural geology, seismology, or geophysics. The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory-level undergraduate geoscience courses, including Structural Geology, and will have the opportunity to develop new courses in their area of expertise. They should also have a research focus in structural geology, seismology, geophysics, or a combination of these subdisciplines. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop a strong, externally funded scholarship program, publish peer-reviewed literature, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research, as appropriate. The successful candidate should demonstrate the potential to contribute across disciplines and promote the continued interdisciplinary growth of the academic and research programs in The Water School. The B.S. Environmental Geology program includes scholarship focuses such as climate change, sea level rise, and sustainable resource management, and we seek a candidate who could add to this focus through environmental applications of structural geology, seismology, and/or geophysics.
