Job Description

PCG is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel for its Corporate Legal operations based in Lenexa, Kansas. This individual will:

    Serve as the primary legal contact for company branches nationwide;
  • Be the primary interface with, and manage outside counsel on all matters of litigation or regulatory compliance;
  • Oversee and execute legal duties relating but not limited to joint ventures, claims, mitigation of risk, government contracts and other day to day legal items;
  • Draft, review, interpret and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements including subcontracts, purchase orders, master contracts, non-disclosure agreements and non-compete agreements;
  • Review and improve standard contract templates and identify areas of continuous improvement for the contract management process and other company processes;
  • Counsel company branches on legal implications of commercial and operational matters in order and provide legal advice that aligns with company's goals;
  • Develop, implement and present training programs for operations and corporate personnel on risk mitigation, contract management, and regulatory compliance;
  • Performing records and legal research;
  • Work in conjunction with various internal departments to identify and address legal and business issues; and
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the General Counsel.


Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience
  • License to practice law
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to an evolving work environment
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize a workload efficently
  • High level of emotional intelligence
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proven track record of being proficent in litigation and handling claims
  • Ability to maintain high quality work output in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and proactively on multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining a commitment to quality
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Proven track record of being a self-starter

Preferred Requirements:

  • Construction industry experience
  • Federal Compliance and/or Government Contracting experience
  • Employment/Labor law and/or Corporate Governance experience
  • Local or willing to relocate to the Kansas City Metro area
