Position Overview
Essential Job Duties |
The primary purpose of this Postdoctoral Research Scholar position will be to plan and execute landscape evolution and thermo-kinematic modeling that is coupled with the new thermochronology data.
The position, available beginning April 2025, is a full-time appointment, initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year, subject to satisfactory performance and available funding.
Other Duties and Responsibilities This position till report to Dr. Maggy Curry. Dr. Curry and the Postdoctoral Research Scholar will meet regularly to discuss research as well as other aspects of professional development including but not limited to teaching, mentorship, outreach, service, and career plans.
Under the guidance of Dr. Curry the Postdoctoral Research Scholar will be expected to disseminate research results through presentations at meetings, prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journal publication, and interact with other researchers and graduate students in Dr. Curry's research group and the research team associated with the research grant.
The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will work in a multidisciplinary team consisting of researchers in academia, industry, and government agencies.
Duties for this position include model development, refinement, and validation. The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will perform inverse modeling, data assimilation, model-data comparisons, analyses, visualizations, and data management. The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will also assist in developing instructional videos on modeling for public distribution. |
Other Work/Responsibilities |
- The postdoc may be asked to participate in proposal writing, guest lecturing, conference/workshop presentations, and outreach projects.
- The postdoc will also be expected to travel to Purdue University for a research trip with collaborators, and to national conferences.
