The Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support assembly operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in programming controllers, training staff, and managing tool inventory while ensuring adherence to quality standards

.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Controller Programming: Program controllers based on specifications created and approved by management.
  • Training: Provide training on the physical repair of handheld tools to maintenance staff as needed; coordinate additional training requests as necessary.
  • Tool Management:
    • Maintain and manage the tool tracking system, generating and reviewing performance reports.
    • Propose and implement improvements to reduce performance issues.
    • Report and maintain tool inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock and proper tool selection based on job requirements.
  • Quality Support:
    • Collaborate with Quality Engineering to review and address any torque tolerance issues.
    • Ensure compliance with established quality standards in all processes.
  • Database Management:
    • Manage the torque database by entering tool information and overseeing related documentation.
    • Maintain a comprehensive list of tool locations and monitor controller connections.
  • Change Management: Work with teams to oversee changes in production processes and troubleshoot any related issues.
  • Error-Proofing Support: Assist in identifying and resolving any issues related to error-proofing systems.
  • Backup Management: Ensure all controller programs are backed up and readily available.

This opening is for 1st shift, Monday through Friday. You will report to the Regional Team Leader and will report onsite daily at our customer's, GM, Ft. Wayne, IN facility. There is also up to 5% national travel throughout the year for training purposes.

What We Expect of You

  • At least 3 years of experience in a production environment, working with manufacturing automation, assembly tooling or data collection systems

  • Equipment troubleshooting and calibration experience

  • Customer service experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • High proficiency in computer systems, such as MS Office, and networking/database experience

  • Familiarity with quality standards and tool management systems

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • High School Diploma or GED
