Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to test, tune and do basic troubleshooting of complex, multi-function, RF/microwave microelectronic assemblies.

You are responsible for



  • Testing, tuning and basic troubleshooting of complex, multi-function, integrated RF/microwave microelectronic assemblies (IMAs) in a clean room environment.
  • Tuning RF devices (using stubs, manipulating bonds, add/subtract resistance, shortening/lengthening inductor coils, etc.)
  • Tuning for noise figure and VSWR/insertion loss/gain
  • Performing basic troubleshooting while developing deeper troubleshooting skills


    • Check the units for correct bonding
    • Identify RF shorts
    • Identify problem location (e.g. driver board, RF side)
    • Understand assembly process to identify shorts/opens in epoxy, bleed out.


  • Using of a tack welder
  • Using a variety of test equipment (Network Analyzer, Scaler, Oscilloscope, Power Supplies) to ensure the highest quality of integrated and tested products
  • Working with engineering and quality teams to provide feedback on current production problems
  • Engaging in continuous product improvement initiatives
  • Training and providing technical guidance to new technicians
  • Maintaining program specific test fixturing in support of electrical testing
  • Assisting engineering in the implementation of new test tools and support as needed.
  • Providing feedback for improvements in test documentation, equipment, and processes
  • The quality of work-in-process, FOD control, and workspace cleanliness
  • Assisting and collaborating with other technicians


You are a part of a successful organization that is experiencing rapid growth while pushing the limits of current technology. This role is in the Manufacturing department working in the Microwave group

Required Qualifications



  • Associates degree from a technical school with 2 years on
    the job training or 3 years on the job training
  • RF microwave test and tuning experience
  • Knowledge of DC circuits and RF theory
  • Background working with electronics
  • Experience in application RF fundamentals including but not
    limited to RF Gain, Gain Flatness, Gain Matching, Return Loss,
    P1 dB Compression, Phase tracking, Log linearity
  • Familiar with transmission line theory, AC/DC circuits


Preferred



  • Computer literate and proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel,
    Outlook) and various other computer software
  • Good manual dexterity while working under a microscope
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams and assembly drawings


This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens."
