Job Description

Danfoss Drives, a global market leader in climate and energy, has an opening in its Loves Park, Illinois facility for a Test Engineering Technician 2nd shift. This position is responsible for providing technical support for Production Test Equipment and Systems. The Test Engineering Technician will support in the design, assembly, maintenance, and upgrade of production test equipment. This role is critical to the production process at Danfoss and requires the ability to quickly troubleshoot Test Equipment and Production system issues to minimize downtime in the production processes.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

Critical Tasks / Responsibilities

* Provide technical support for Production Test Equipment and Production Systems.

* Perform periodic calibration, maintenance, and improvements for Test Equipment.

* Manage spare parts inventory.

* Create and maintain Test Procedures and Instructions.

* Assist in the design and build of test equipment.

*
Analyze daily issues in the Root Cause problem solving process.

* Communicate
with operators, team coordinators and engineers.

Background & Skills

Basic Minimum Skills Required

* Associate degree from 2 year college or technical school in
Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology is required.

* 2+ years of practical experience in an industrial environment with equipment like DAQ systems, PLC, DMM, Oscilloscopes preferred.

* Ability to work with computer hardware,
networking, communication protocols and interfacing with manufacturing systems.

* Knowledge of
electrical machines (transformers, motors) preferred.

* Ability to read and interpret
electrical schematics and technical documents.

* Ability to
analyze
data/information and present to peers and managers.

* Knowledge of databases and forms in Oracle preferred.

* Good communication skills.

* Ability to work in a production environment and interact with production personnel.
