TSC is seeking a Engineer IV This position will be onsite in Huntsville, AL.

The Engineer will assist the Missile Defense Agency's Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program office (MDA/GM) with implementing an acquisition strategy to design, build, integrate, test, procure, and field increasing capabilities for missile defense in an incremental capability delivery program.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be capable of providing support in the following areas:

  • Facilitate execution of all engineering and management phases to support current and future versions of the GMD weapon system, weapon system components, and MDA/GM in accordance with the MDA/GM System Engineering Plan (SEP).
  • Support key product development and execute processes for planning, system design, element development, integration, testing, analysis and assessment, fielding, and maintenance of weapon system in accordance with the System Specification (SS) and Phased Implementation Plan (PIP) on the Technical Baseline (TBL).
  • Assist with managing weapon system internal and external interfaces. Develop, maintain, and control documents including Interface Control Document (ICD), Interface Description/Design Document (IDD), and Interface Control Specification (ICS), etc.
  • Develop interface requirements based on capability updates and / or in response to coordinated updates to other Missile Defense System (MDS) elements. Utilize the Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) database tool for interface management.
  • Coordinate interface design with internal and external stakeholder interface teams and document the design details in the ICD.
  • Develop and maintain element and component technical baseline integration documentation. Review and assess baseline documentation, identify required changes and impacts, and implement approved changes.
  • Provide program analysis plan, medium and high-fidelity performance analysis, system test analysis, and external information and analysis requests.
  • Develop, update, integrate, and deliver analysis tools including source and executable code and user manuals or Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) tools for ground test, flight test, hardware-in-the-loop testing and medium fidelity end-to-end performance analysis.
  • Conduct analyses to finalize specification requirements flow down and allocation, and to characterize performance and Technical Performance Measures (TPM) for exercises and real-world events.
    • Participate in engineering safety processes and activities in support of weapon systems development and fielding.
    • Develop and maintain Knowledge Points (KPs) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs).
    • Review and assess drawings, drawing trees, and drawing specifications. Analyze performance and generate proof-of-design and development concepts. Conduct analysis and / or assessments of interface documentation, missile aerodynamics, mass properties, development, and manufacturing.
    • Assist with the development, definition, and documentation of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) products and processes that produce key data to support GMD joint program office decisions, GMD element requirements verification decisions, and GMD element and component fielding decisions. Provide a GMD M&S Plan.
    • Assist with coordinating activities across the GMD element, components, subsystems, functional organizations, and working groups to ensure GMD weapon system vertical and horizontal interoperability within GMD and with the MDS.
    • Develop, implement, integrate, and maintain the GMD element design to satisfy GMD requirements.
    • Provide GMD system design description documentation, design review assessment packages, supportability risk assessment, and design briefings.
    • Assist with element-level design integration and summarize each configuration item at design reviews.
    • Assist with developing element and component level requirements and other support material. Participate in component level requirements reviews, summarize events, and make recommendations on issue resolution. Develop objective evidence products for requirements and design review packages, requirements, and design review plans may include but not limited to the following:
  • Evaluate objective evidence, assess design review entry, and exit readiness, and report findings.
  • Review, assess, analyze, and provide comments on complex systems reports.
  • Provide element or component design review entry and exit readiness assessments, entrance and exit criteria summaries and recommendations, and design review package objective evidence products.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a STEM field
  • 12+ years of experience working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program project
  • Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams / tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering and scientific problems
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Minimum of a Secret clearance
