The College of Education & Human Development is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist - Academic.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position will provide support to Middle and Secondary Education at Georgia State University.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:



  • Assists Chair with special projects as needed.
  • Communicates regularly with students and faculty regarding matriculation progress in respective programs, provides ongoing assistance to undergraduate and graduate students with problems they may encounter with course registration, graduation issues, and other problems that may impede student's ability to graduate as scheduled.
  • Develops reports and disseminates information on a variety of academic activities that include roll verification, grade submission, graduation, and on-line revenue to Chair, Business Manager, and other College personnel.
  • Serves as department's liaison with the Office of Student Services to facilitate the daily business for MSE degree and non-degree programs. Works with OSS personnel to process all documents that facilitate students' admissions into and matriculation through their respective programs and to correct errors on students' Banner files.
  • Submits course authorizations, overflows, and over-rides in Banner; reviews students' program of study and evaluations to mitigate registration and graduation issues.
  • Supports Chair with monitoring CAS and sends notifications as warranted, maintains department's listserv, create special reports, and serves as back up for registration adjustments and approvals for grade changes. *Serve as the department contact on Department website to assist with student issues.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree and four years of administrative experience; or a high school diploma or GED and eight years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and experience.
