LMI is seeking a skilled Senior Supply Chain Management and Policy Consultant to provide day-to-day leadership, analytical and strategic logistics support services on logistics and materiel readiness to DoD. Client site is in the National Capital Region. This is a hybrid opportunity, offering a combination of onsite/telework.

Responsibilities

    Provide subject matter expertise in the following supply technical areas:
    • Supply Chain Management Principles
    • Supply Chain Best Practices and Industry standards
    • Asset Visibility concepts to include Serialization/Item Unique Identification
    • Prepositioned War Reserve Materiel
    • Defense Logistics Manual (DLM) / Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS)
    • Advanced/Additive Manufacturing (AM/AdvM)
    • Cataloging
    • Working Capital Funding
  • Lead working groups, develop strategy and plans, write/re-write DoD policy on the above areas of expertise.
  • Demonstrate active participation and leadership roles in supply chain organizations, contributing to research and frameworks aimed at improving decision-making processes.
  • Engage with external organizations to support the development of innovative research and solutions.
  • Apply extensive experience (20+ years) in supply chain management to enhance operational efficiencies and integrate commercial best practices.
  • Act as a leader in external organizations focused on advancing research and best practices in supply chain management and policy analysis.
  • Ensure alignment with commercial best practices and emerging trends in supply chain management.
  • Understand and use SCOR principles to optimize supply chain processes and performance metrics.
  • Develop and publish agenda, meeting summary, and draft talking points for government client(s) and senior leadership.
  • Conduct outreach with other DoD and interagency personnel with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Provide administrative and technical writing support for the successful maintenance and update of DoD and other government agency issuances and directives covering the assigned portfolio above.
  • Prepare and finalize correspondence including letters, memoranda, briefings, speeches, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports. Maintain communication mediums including distribution lists, rosters, and SharePoint sites.
  • Schedule internal and external meetings, including reservation of conference space, and notification to attendees.
  • Maintain confidential or sensitive information and documents.
  • Performs liaison with staffs of high-level government officials, private industry, special interest, and user groups. Responds to inquiries on policy and other matters on behalf of and consistent with the government lead's views.


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or similar discipline.
  • Expertise in policy analysis and development, with a strong track record of successful outcomes.
  • Advanced understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.
  • 20+ plus years' experience in DoD logistics and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of Department processes and development efforts regarding supply chain metrics.
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and Industry.
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Availability for occasional travel.
  • This position requires an active security clearance at the SECRET level, candidate must be TS-eligible. You must be a US citizen.

Targeted Salary Range: $109,000-$165,000
