Cape Fox Lodge is seeking a talented Lodge Operations Manager. Lodge Operations Manager (LOM) will manage day-to-day hotel operations outside of restaurants, banquets, and catering. The primary responsibility for the Lodge Operations Manager is to utilize hands-on management, training and motivation to assure the highest level of customer service afforded to our guests. The Lodge Operations Manager will oversee the hotel operations by ensuring the creation and execution of business plans, marketing strategies, sales activities, cost containments, analysis, property maintenance and security. The Lodge Operations Manager is also responsible for direct oversight of front desk, housekeeping, interior / exterior maintenance, landscaping, room / lobby decor, and gift shop. The LOM collaborates directly with culinary and banquets staff to ensure a seamless and high quality experience for all partner organizations and guest. The LOM is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the lodge by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, profitability, guest and associate satisfaction, effectiveness and efficiencies. The Lodge Operations Manager will develop and submit budgets. The LOM also will oversee the development of staffing guides and schedules, and most importantly, will support and engage guests to ensure that the needs, desires and expectations of the Lodge guests are consistently exceeded. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of operating budgets for each of the lodge's departments outside of restaurants, catering, and banquets. After approval, monitor and take corrective action as necessary to assure that budget goals are attained.
- Create an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction.
- Respond promptly to guest questions, comments or complaints.
- Oversee and ensure that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development for experienced staff are planned and implemented.
- Build strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers.
- Ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, and other standards are consistently met.
- Maintain proper maintenance of the building, grounds, and vehicles to protect the physical assets of the hotel.
- Oversee the development of standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control; ensure they are consistently utilized and make recommendations.
- Support and communicate company goals and initiatives, promote company programs, and act as an ambassador of the company.
- Work closely with CFSS Human Resources to ensure proper wage and benefit administration and compliance with established labor regulations, company policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the Lodge dress code.
- Continuously develop a team and encourage our employees to excel in their roles and continuously improve; motivating them to exceed expectations of the guests; passionately uphold and elevate a positive work environment for the internal guests - our employees.
- Execute marketing, sales, and operational activities, producing results that meet or exceed the hotel's business plan.
- Analyze operating statements and reports for accuracy.
- Monitor the performance of the hotel through verification and analysis of guest satisfaction systems and financial reports. Initiate corrective action.
- Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints. Initiate corrective action.
- Develop accurate long and short-range financial objectives consistent with the Company's mission statement.
- Understand the government regulations affecting the hotel's operations, ensuring hotel is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority.
- Oversee and approve the staffing and scheduling procedures and needs
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures for departments.
- Hold regular meetings with department heads to coordinate and monitor the progress of business strategies.
- Implement a Revenue Management Plan that maximizes net income for the Lodge.
- Plan and organize the work of others.
- Supervise department managers at the hotel striving for excellence and effective teaming. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, training programs, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
