Job summary: The Engagement Coordinator for the SafeCare Program is responsible for obtaining referrals for the program. This role involves coordinating with community partners, caseworkers, and internal staff to ensure families are connected to SafeCare services in a timely and efficient manner. The Engagement Coordinator is essential in promoting program accessibility, maintaining strong relationships with referral sources. This includes speaking at children and family focused events, FCS events, and any related activities to spread awareness of the program and grow the clients served. In this unique position, you will also be acting as a Family Preservation Specialist to provide a wide range of in-home services to families based upon their unique and individual needs and goals, in order to prevent out of home placement of identified youth and meet other goals of the program. POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, review, and process referrals from external agencies, child welfare caseworkers, healthcare providers, and other community partners.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of referral information and enter it into the program's tracking system.
- Contact families to discuss the SafeCare program, explain the referral process, and schedule initial assessments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for referral sources, maintaining strong relationships with community partners, child welfare agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing communication with referral sources regarding the status of referred families, including updates on service initiation and program engagement.
- Serve as the first point of contact for families referred to the program, offering a welcoming and supportive introduction to SafeCare services.
- Maintain accurate records of all referral activities, including the referral source, family contact details, and status updates in the program's data management system.
- Monitor and report on referral trends, program capacity, and family engagement metrics.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the referral process and improve program access for families.
- This position will divide time between facilitating outreach and serving families by providing the SafeCare model to high-risk families in the home environment. Providers will work around the family's schedule and provide services, which are sensitive with respect to family culture.
Services include but not limited to:
- Crisis intervention, parenting education in behavior management and nurturing, child development training, advocacy, life skills training, budgeting, communication and negotiation skills. Home maintenance skills, concrete services, developing linkages with support systems & community resources. School intervention, self-esteem building activities including sports, hobbies, group participation and outdoor activities, In-home substance abuse services. Motivational Interviewing as well as relapse prevention techniques and positive neighborhood activities.
- Providers will meet fidelity to the SafeCare model within one year of employment. Providers will have ongoing consultants shadow them up to two times per month to ensure fidelity to model.
QUALIFICATIONS Education:
- Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent
- Bachelor's degree preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in mental health, children services, or communication preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office. Proof of automobile insurance required.
OTHER INFORMATION SAFETY SENSITIVE JOB CLASSIFICATION: This job is classified as a "safety-sensitive" position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Due to the "safety-sensitive" classification, an employee in this position would be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening.
