Release Train Engineer

Habitat for Humanity International seeks a Release Train Engineer (RTE). The Release Train Engineer is a servant leader and chief Team Coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). The RTE's primary responsibilities are to focus on improving ART flow, facilitate the ART events and processes, and facilitate the removal of impediments. The RTE communicates with stakeholders, escalates impediments, helps manage risk, and drives relentless improvement. This role requires a deep understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
**Manage Flow (15%)
o Relentless improvement in ART flow, with respect to a continuous flow of valuable features to the customer.
o Facilitate the removal of impediments as applicable.
o Facilitate Value Stream Mapping to identify and reduce delays and improve time to market

**Facilitation and Coordination (15%)
o Facilitate PI Planning events.
o Coordinate and facilitate ART ceremonies, including Coach Sync, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt workshops.

o Create and lead custom workshops. o Deliver SAFe training.
o Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the ART and with external stakeholders.

**Leadership and Coaching (15%)
o Serve as a coach and mentor to Scrum Masters/Team Coaches, Product Owners, and team members within the ART.
o Promote a culture of continuous improvement and agile best practices.
o Drive the execution of the PI and ensure alignment with business goals.

**Risk Management (15%)
o Identify and manage risks and dependencies across the ART.
o Escalate and track impediments to ensure timely resolution.
o Ensure thE ART adheres to SAFe principles and practices

**Metrics and Reporting (15%)
o Track and communicate key metrics to monitor ART performance.
o Generate and analyze data to support decision-making and improvement initiatives.
o Provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and outcomes.

**Collaboration and Communication (15%)
o Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including Product Management, Solution Architects, and Business Owners. o Ensure transparency and alignment of priorities across the ART.
o Act as a liaison between the ART and other organizational units.

**Continuous Learning (10%)
o Stay current on the latest Lean Agile trends and practices through books, podcasts, articles webinars, etc.
o Stay current on SAFe training enablements, articles, and resources
o Attend SAFe conferences
o Stay adept on the latest Agile tools

**Minimum:
o Education: BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study
o Years of Related Experience: 5+ years implementing Agile methodologies

**Qualifications:
o SAFe RTE or SPC Certification
o Strong technical background in information technology management
o Proven leadership skills
o Proven track-record of successfully leading PI planning, aligning teams, and collaboration across teams and stakeholders
o Strong knowledge and comprehension of Lean Agile frameworks and principles and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
o Experience in organizing, directing, and managing activities related to building and maintaining software releases
o Knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies
o Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
o Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
o Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

**Preferred - in addition to the minimum:
o Experience working in a fully remote environment
o Experience working with non-profit organizations
o Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery strategies
