As a Technical Support Engineer II, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful installation of Belden products in customers Industrial Automation applications. This includes setup, configuration, troubleshooting and sometimes debugging customer implementations in all manner of uses, and working with all internal groups within Belden to achieve customer success and satisfaction. As a Technical Support Engineer, you are the primary contact with the end users and responsible for bringing the customer's thoughts and experiences to other groups throughout Belden, making our products and overall experience of using our products better for all. You are also responsible for presales technical support and being able to understand customer needs and articulate how a Belden Solution can benefit our customers and how they can be used to solve existing customer issues. Primary Responsibilities: * Pre & Post-sales technical support interfacing Belden products with industrial automation equipment from various manufacturers. * Integration of various industrial applications & hardware platforms, including SCADA and DCS platforms. * Candidate must have a good understanding of Ethernet networking, and serial communications. * Configuration troubleshooting, diagnosis and troubleshooting communications issues, as well as debugging PLC (ladder logic) programming issues. * Candidate must be able to provide support on a variety of issues; identify, research, and resolve technical problems as well as documenting and monitoring the problem to ensure a timely resolution. * Candidate shall be willing to interface with various departments throughout the company such as Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Marketing to present field observations from our customers to various groups within the company. Requirements: * Should be familiar with many of the following applications: RSLogix 5, 500, or 5000, RSLinx, RSView, RSNetWorx, Concept, Unity, TIA Portal, and Step7. Experience with industrial wireless applications will also be helpful. * Should have experience with, or knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus, Profibus/Profinet, EtherNet/IP, DNP3, BACnet, DF1, AB Remote IO, CANOpen, DeviceNet, and Data Highway/DH485/DH+, etc. * Electrical Engineering background, or industrial automation electrical experience or equivalent a plus. * Should have a strong networking background with the ability to troubleshoot small to enterprise-level networks involving: PRP, MRP, DLR, IPSEC, MPLS, and other networking technologies. * Strong problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple tasks independently, adapting to shifting priorities. * Programming knowledge, in C, C++, C#, Python, GO, NodeRED or other languages a plus, but not required. * Must have strong customer service skills including excellent verbal and written communications. * Travel on special occasions.
