PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Provides dance partner accompaniment for Latin Hustle II and other dance classes that may require dance partner accompaniment.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to demonstrate specific partnering elements covered in course.
  • Proficient in Latin Hustle dance and any other partner dance forms.
  • Ability to give critical feedback to students in the execution of partnering elements
  • Ability to work in a collaborative module.
  • Active support for the College's Principles of Community and Principles of Diversity in the performance of job duties.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

The successful candidate will possess the knowledge, skills and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Ability to dance Latin Hustle and Adagio dance form
  • Some background in teaching Latin Hustle and Adagio dance forms and other partnering techniques
  • Latin Hustle and Adagio dance performance experience

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

2 or more years documented experience teaching Latin Hustle and adagio dance in an academic or recreational context or any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities of the position.

HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:

This is a regular status, part-time, 4 hours per week, non-benefits-eligible and non-exempt position.

Hours and days of week may vary due to the needs of the students and College events.

Hourly rate range: $30.00-$33.00.The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, andtraining.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None.

Ability to maintain good concentration level while dealing with interruptions; attention to details with emphasis on accuracy; capable of giving, receiving, and analyzing information, formulating work plans, and articulating goals and action plans.Ability to demonstrate partnering patterns while giving student feedback and corrections to safely execute skills.
