Manager 2, Reporting and Analytics

The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for the position of Manager 2, Reporting and Analytics. This position functions as a member of the Research leadership team in the Health and Social Sciences section with technical, supervisory, and organizational leadership responsibilities. The GRC engages in applied health services and population health research in a project-based team setting.GRCs Health and Social Sciences Section, a subdivision of GRCs Research Section, currently consists of nine researchers who specialize in quantitative, qualitative, multi-methods and mixed methods research.

The successful candidate will: (1) Contribute to project work as a Principal Investigator, technical expert, and/or team or task lead; (2) mentor and supervise multiple staff members; (3) coordinate Health and Social Sciences section activities such as hiring, project staffing, and developing operational procedures; (4) contribute to development of new projects or initiatives; (5) assist in leadership activities across GRCs organization; and (6) communicate and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to define and achieve project goals.

The successful candidate should have substantial technical expertise and experience in multiple of the following areas: (1) Survey methods including instrument development, survey fielding, and survey data analysis; (2) Qualitative protocol development, data collection and analysis; (3) Quantitative social science research methods, including statistical analyses of survey and administrative data; (4) Use of administrative data, particularly state agency data, for research and evaluation; (5) Mixed methods and multi-method study designs. Examples of relevant domain experience for a successful candidate include demography and population health, health services, health policy, behavioral health, and the social determinants of health . The successful candidate should also have substantial expertise in statistical programming and/or qualitative data analysis with the ability to mentor and teach others.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree or 3 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree in a related field of study with evidence of increasing responsibility.
  • Experience leading research teams performing technical research tasks is required..
  • Substantial experience working with external clients and other stakeholders is required.
  • Requires successful completion of a background check. The selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with health system clients such as health-related state agencies (i.e., the Ohio Department of Medicaid or the Ohio Department of Health) or hospitals is desired.
  • An advanced research degree such as a PhD is desired.
  • Current residency in the State of Ohio or willingness to relocate upon employment preferred.
