What you'll be doing...

You will be joining Verizon Business Product Organization (VBPO) as a Program and Project Sr Manager on the Portfolio Management team. You will lead a portfolio of product projects through the Product Commercialization Process (PCP) by partnering and collaborating with multiple Stakeholder organizations, including Product Managers, Technology Solution, legal, finance and more. You will be responsible for ensuring the completion of each PCP workflow task and timely progress of the planning through final review and close out stages of each project in your portfolio. You will manage the E2E product life cycle through the Product Commercialization Process working alongside the product owner through each stage of the process and to ensure the project is moving in a timely manner toward product readiness.

In this role, you will manage a large portfolio of projects that align to the VBPO's top priorities to drive revenue and/or cost savings. You will be a subject matter expert on the PCP process, workflow, automation and guide Product Owners through each stage. You may not know all the answers, but you are able to work through challenges by independently researching potential solutions, collaborating with others, and iterating to find alternatives. You will enforce your team's process, Verizon's Corporate Policy Statements (CPS), SOX Audit requirements and uphold the Verizon Credo while working with a large and diverse corporate environment. You will work with all levels of management, including executive leadership, so strong communication skills are required. You will establish partnerships within the product organization, our partner organizations and Stakeholders.

In this role responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Create and manage assigned portfolio of projects and the E2E Product Commercialization Process.

  • Exercise your understanding of Product Life Cycle and our internal Product Commercialization Process by identifying potential process, workflow and automation improvements.

  • Communicate and collaborate across Portfolio and Product Management, tech partners and stakeholder organizations to identify scope and requirement duplication or dependencies and improve each product's time to market.

  • Partner with technology and business leaders from multiple Verizon teams (across the enterprise) in defining and evolving the priority of each program/project development increment.

  • Promote collaboration of scope, use cases, technical requirements, product design, and functional testing to ensure products and tech partners adhere to aligned scope, project sizing, approved budget and project timelines.

  • Data integrity management and reporting, plus tracking of project dates and timelines.

  • Google site and content management.

  • Monitor program/project monthly capital spend across all technology organizations to minimize overspend.

  • Provide clear, consistent direction, pragmatic problem solving techniques as well as encouragement and constructive criticism.

  • Solve problems by digging into the details to determine root causes, quantifying impact, & pursuing impactful solutions.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Four or more years of program or project management experience.

  • Knowledge of Product or product life cycle management experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Business product lifecycle management experience.

  • Financial acumen.

  • Excellent communication.

  • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances. If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $108,000.00 and $219,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
