Security Specialist This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Security Specialist: $60,000 to $65,000. Pay commensurate with experience. SUMMARY The Security Specialist will assist with access management and daily operations at the Marine Corps Support Facility (MCSF) New Orleans Visitors Center (VC). The focus of the VC is to administer the installation's access control program with processing visitors, VIP guest and permanent personnel badging. The Security Specialist will assist the Facility Protection Officer with managing the visitor access request portal and security requirements to enter the installation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process visitors, guests, and permanent personnel onto the facility, in accordance with the facility access control policy and Marine Corps policy(s).
- A Secret clearance is required to access required information and information systems necessary to operate the VC.
- Maintain qualification and/or certification in the following security program areas:
- AMAG Electronic Security System (ESS) for access control and badging
- Electronic Personnel and Access Control System (EPACS)
- Visitor Control Program
- Basic Operational Security
- Basic Terrorism Awareness
- Basic understanding of security measures.
- Review and understand references in accordance with access control.
- Provide a comprehensive monthly report of assigned task metrics to the Government.
- Assist in conducting program reviews, assessments, and risk/vulnerability surveys of the MCSF access control program.
- Provide required support on a case-by-case basis.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY No supervisory/management authority. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A High School Diploma is required and field related experience.
- 4 years of US Military experience in a related position or field is desired.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both oral & written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Demonstrate the ability to carry out support tasks related to security administration as presented.
- An active Secret Clearance is desired.
- The ability to successfully pass a drug screen and a federal background check is mandatory.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrate knowledge to serve as a subject matter expert on DOD and Marine Corps policies involving Access Control/Security Programs.
- Knowledge and proficiency in operating a secured area and handling controlled material/information.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is performed in a federal office environment.
- Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office environment at MCSF New Orleans.
