Reg Respiratory Therapist (PD), Night Shift,
POSITION SUMMARY:
To administer all forms of Respiratory Therapy, as well as becoming involved with consultations involving types of therapy administered, maintaining equipment, enforcing safety standards, and keeping departmental records.
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree from an approved NBRC Program and successful completion of the NBRC entrance registry examination.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one to two years experience in all forms of Respiratory Therapy preferred OSHA: Special Skills: Registration by the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner and current CPR Certification. ACLS Certification preferred. Licensed in the State of New Jersey. Effective group process skills. Effective oral and written communication skills to express ideas clearly. Effective listening skills. Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and the changing work environment related to changing patient needs. Ability to work cooperatively with patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Rehab, DI, Lab, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use effective analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solve. Supervision Exercised: Assumes charge responsibilities as assigned. Supervision Received: Supervision from the Shift Coordinator, Charge Person and/or Manager of Respiratory Therapy. Working Conditions: Requires sitting, walking, standing in office, nursing units, and patient rooms. Lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Pushing and/or pulling equipment on wheels weighing up to 100 pounds. Stooping, bending, squatting, twisting, reaching and grasping with arms and hands. Wrist and digital dexterity. Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy. Exposure to solvents, chemicals, and cleaning solutions as applies to departmental MSDS sheets.
