Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking a motivated college student with a strong work ethic to join our summer internship program as a Financal Operations intern with our Finance and Operations teams, with a worksite location in the Northwest region (Portland, OR or Seattle, WA).

Throughout the summer program, interns will benefit from close mentorship and engaging hands-on activities, enabling them to obtain real-world experience and develop a solid foundation of the controller function within a national specialty construction contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Analysis: Analyze the company's financial performance through preparation and review of income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.

    • Communicate financial results to key stakeholders

    • Understand main drivers of performance

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Supports the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts by working with stakeholders within the business and understanding project flows and timelines.

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special finance projects and initiatives as needed, providing valuable contributions to the team.

    • Attend and participate in branch meetings including staff meetings, CIP meetings, pre-job set-up meetings and progress meetings (25%, 50%, 75%, project review meetings)

Performance Contacting provides hourly wage, relocation reimbursement and corporate housing option for all interns. Upon completion of the internship, each intern will receive an evaluation which will be considered for future employment opportunities with the company.



Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Completed basic/entry level Business Management and Financial Accounting courses
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
  • Ability to work with cross-functional business partners
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask

Preferred Requirements:

  • Preferred Junior or Senior level completion of program
  • Currently pursuing a concentration in construction or related field
  • Local to the Indianapolis-metro area preferred
