ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain course curriculum. Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.
- Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.
- Assess student attainment of learning outcomes and critical life skills (both formative and summative), at the course, program, and college level.
- Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.
- Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate as a productive member of a team.
- Maintain college learning resources and equipment.
- Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
- Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
- Demonstrated working knowledge of programmatic discipline, curriculum development, effective teaching/learning principles, and evaluation.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral, written, active listening, and non-verbal cues.
- Strong customer service skills which include working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage time, organize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively integrate technology into instructional delivery and assessment.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal (staff, management, personnel) and external contacts (employers, clients, and vendors).
- Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work and/or the improvement of processes and/or systems.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with computer software applications such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs. Knowledge of and familiarity with videoconferencing and technologies associated with adult-centric teaching and learning, as well as within specific programmatic disciplines, which may include web technologies, operating systems, online program tracking platforms, social media platforms, mobile technology tools, and/or AV/multimedia applications and equipment.
- High level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Design software including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Fonts.
- Strong working knowledge of digital printing including finishing.
- Basic knowledge of printing workflows, including wide format printing and auxiliary pressroom equipment.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design/Commercial Art/Visual Communication, preferably with two years of industry experience or Five years of experience in an agency, in-house graphic design position, or in an Art/Design area at a Commercial printer. An updated portfolio of relevant work corresponding to the aforementioned experience needs to be submitted.
- Proficiency in current design software including several of the applications in Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Working knowledge of offset flexography and Digital printing.
- Experience with video editing software preferred.
- Attain and maintain a WTCS teaching certificate.
- Prior teaching/mentoring experience preferred

Supplemental Information

The Instructor - Graphic Design position is part of the Graphics, Construction and Transportation department in the School of Applied Technologies and will report to the Associate Dean. This position requires Wisconsin residence. This full-time instructor position will teach on a flexible year-round calendar. Teaching assignments include variable hours, including days, evenings, and/or weekends. Application Details:

Interviews:
Finalists will be invited to interview in person and do a teaching demonstration as part of the interview. Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, December 4th, 2024.
