Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

We Require

  • One year of full-time behavioral health work experience

  • Bachelor's degree insocial work, psychology, sociology, or a related field

  • Must successfully complete a thorough background check

We Also Value

  • Master of social work, counseling, or related field; LMSW, LAC, LAMFT, or LBSW

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English

  • Ability to problem-solve complex situations and emergencies

  • Intermediate skills in organized task management, efficient data gathering, and coordination of large amounts of information to prioritize treatment interventions

  • Knowledge of corrections, community mental health, and mental health terminology

  • Experience with triaging internal and external referrals

  • Experience with coordinating the completion of Mental Health Petitions with community providers and testifying in court

Job Contributions

  • Provide crisis intervention/rapid response and suicide risk assessment services

  • Facilitate individual and group psychoeducation related to improved management of health/behavioral health issues and risk reduction of recidivism in the criminal justice system

  • Develop and coordinate community re-entry plans that address risk factors associated with recidivism in the criminal justice system

  • Maintain knowledge of community resources and contacts to support thepatient's effective transition back to the community

  • Complete suicide risk and bio-psychosocial assessments and clinical reports/mental health forms under the supervision of an independently licensed professional

  • Obtain treatment records and coordinate care with family, community providers, and others relevant to healthcare and community re-entry plan

  • Maintain HIPAA patient confidentiality in the management of information

  • Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team in the management of patient care and departmental objectives, including participation in mental health staff and department meetings and initiatives

  • Adhere to all applicable professional standards and requirements, including modeling the code of ethics associated with licensure and certification and meeting regulatory, licensure, accreditation, health assessment, and CPR requirements

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work in a jail and within close physical proximity with others. May have frequent work interruptions

  • May respond to crisis radio calls and emergencies

  • Travel or floating to various clinical locations is required. You will be assigned to various clinical locations in the Phoenix area within a 5-mile radius

  • Must be able to respond to emergencies.
