Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide support, organize, and coordinate a variety of campus functions and special events. This is accomplished by finding and scheduling locations for events and meetings; receiving reservation requests and submitting work orders; creating schedules; producing furniture placement diagrams; coordinating external client's arrival to campus and provide on-site event and meeting coverage; distributing correspondence; and coordinating with contractors and various departments to achieve seamless events and meetings. Other duties include updating templates; keeping room/building attributes records up-to-date; surveying event properties; generating and distributing reports for other departments; establishing work schedules for set-up contractors; and processing public safety, ITS, facilities, and tech requests.

In addition to regular office hours, this position will flex their schedule in order to assist with evening and weekend activities.

This is an non-exempt, classified staff position and includes a comprehensive benefits package offering medical, dental and vision coverage; generous paid time off; tuition assistance; and retirement savings. This position will require work performed regularly on campus.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Required Education
High School Diploma/ GED
Required Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an office setting and 1 year of experience assisting with event coordination.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate activities of several events and projects simultaneously
  • Understanding the importance of excellent customer service & communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing various Microsoft 365 applications
  • Experience with Visio is a plus
  • Experience with Ad Astra is a plus

Hours per Week 40 - 100%
General Weekly Work Schedule
In addition to regular office hours, this position works evenings and weekends based on the event schedule.
