What we offer:

* Salary: $49,000 - $52,000

Job Functions:

Provides counseling services for clients in residential, offsite programs and community area served by the Counseling & Resiliency Center. Provides consultation for other departments regarding client mental health and recovery needs. Oversees delivery of any necessary substance abuse related services within the program. Ensures programming responds to healing from effects of trauma integrating protective, resiliency components including use of the Sanctuary model of trauma informed care.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provide counseling services for clients requesting care. Develop and implement counseling goals with clients to ensure needs are being met. Track outcomes and manage data.
  2. Administer comprehensive assessments (for intake, substance abuse, trauma, and other indicated areas) to determine clinical needs.
  3. Utilize trauma informed, evidence-based practices and focus counseling sessions on healing interventions that recognize and strengthen protective and resiliency factors, building resiliency to stress.
  4. Provide accurate and timely documentation of all services in TheraNest. Ensure relevant documentation and confidential therapeutic documentation is in TheraNest. Track counseling outcomes pre and post intervention.
  5. Participate in program and team meetings related to substance abuse related needs and concerns as well as other general clinically related issues.
  6. Provide training opportunities for staff at Metropolitan Ministries.
  7. Be knowledgeable of 1st Hug required services and community resources and agencies.
  8. Develop and provide oversight for group counseling opportunities for consumers if indicated.
  9. Work with Clinical Director to ensure counseling team recruiting needs, hours, and grant required numbers are being met.
  10. Schedule and supervise interns (at clinical director's discretion) offering counseling and mental health services to clients. Provide all oversight required to support quality internship experience (weekly supervision, quarterly evaluation, interim support for intern's clients, coordination with university personnel).
  11. Will perform duties according to applicable professional Code of Ethics.
  12. Follow protocol to respond to emergency situations and provide emergency back-up services when needed.
  13. Serve as a role model and mentor to all Metropolitan Ministries staff working with children.
  14. Support the holiday tent operations as directed. Support the team in other tasks as assigned.
  15. Meet personal goals and actively contribute to the achievement of the team and organizational targets/goals as stated on the KPI and in the annual plan.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

Must possess a master's degree in counseling, Psychology or Social Work. Minimal of a registered intern is required. Internal staff must qualify for and begin Registered Intern status within 30 days of hire. Must be knowledgeable about homeless issues, with experience working with behavioral/mental health and/or trauma or developmental issues.

Skill Requirements:

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Requires heart for ministry. Requires understanding of poverty, a high degree of maturity, strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work with low socio-economic and diverse populations facing crisis situations in a professional and diplomatic manner. Requires strong counseling skills and the ability to teach both individuals and groups. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and staff. Ability to work as part of a team within a multi-disciplinary framework. Demonstrates computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office. Requires oral and written communication skills and the ability to write reports and conduct and participate in meetings.

Physical Requirements:

Hearing and speaking ability, which allows for effective oral communication; physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress.

Other:

Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Valid FL driver's license. Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule to ensure that client/program needs are being met. Must take initiative in selecting and attending appropriate workshops, conferences, seminars, etc. to upgrade and enhance professional development skills. Additionally, experience with data collection, relapse prevention, disease concept, sober support systems, trauma informed care, evidenced-based therapeutic practices, team leadership, timely documentation, knowledge of DSM-5 encouraged.
