The 2nd Floor is a 22-bed cardiac prep and recovery unit at UC San Diego Health's La Jolla Campus and 4-bed unit at UC San Diego Health's Hillcrest Campus. The unit provides care for a population of high acuity cardiovascular patients. The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for providing administrative and clinical leadership. Develops standards of care coordination that demonstrates success in: promoting high quality, cost effective delivery of care; ensuring effective utilization of resources across the continuum; excellent customer service; and compliance with regulatory and internal UCSD requirements. Spearheads innovative projects and approaches involving multi-disciplinary factions for systems improvement that affects patient outcomes across the organization. Plans, schedules and organizes work for departments ensuring proper distribution of assignments and efficient utilization of personnel, space and facilities. The Assistant Nurse Manager supervises staff involved in providing clinical patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manger assists in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. May assume full responsibility for the unit in delegated areas and in the absence of the manager. The position is 40 hours/week, including regular coverage for the night shift. Must be flexible in schedule and can quickly adapt to pressing needs. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $128,800 - $252,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $61.69 - $120.79 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
