In this role, you will lead and support staff to achieve departmental goals and enhance processes within our service line. You will coordinate and educate team members on the latest evidence-based practices across all acute care areas, assessing and evaluating quality and workflow to ensure high standards of care. You will oversee department resources in daily operations and provide management support in the Director of Respiratory Care's absence.

Additionally, you will ensure the operation and quality control of our Pulmonary Lab, perform diagnostic studies, and compile and maintain essential data. Guided by standards from the College of American Pathologists and the Joint Commission, you will drive process improvements to support our commitment to exceptional patient care.

Salary Range: $102,500-$227,700 Annually

Qualifications
Required:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and currently certified Respiratory Care Practitioner, State of California
  • Graduate of a two-year (2) approved Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Possess current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS)
  • Knowledge and expertise in all phases of current Respiratory Care Practices and Equipment
  • Skill in organizing work, staff and resources in an efficient manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses and other Respiratory Therapy staff and to listen perceptively to instructions or information. Convey awareness and understanding of or lack of same as appropriate
  • Ability to communicate effectively in teaching and counseling staff and students
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written form
  • Knowledge of safety precautions necessary to specific specialty units. Knowledge of quality control methods and theories
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with personnel, and ancillary medical personnel
  • Ability to interact humanistically with patients, visitors, physicians, hospital staff and co-workers
  • Skill in directing the teamwork concept
Preferred:
  • 5 years clinical experience
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate (NRP)
