It is important to identify families with a hereditary susceptibility to cancer because in many cases, they may take steps to reduce their risk or prevent cancer from occurring. Corewell Health's cancer genetics program provides patients with the most up-to-date information about hereditary cancer risk and guidelines for cancer screening and treatment.

Scope of Work

Reporting to the Director or Sr. Director of regional shared service line with matrix to hospital operations and medical director. Responsible for direction and leadership of the day-to-day clinical genetics and cancer genetics programs, including the operational, financial, and administrative functions of the genetic counseling service. This includes establishing, meeting, and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives of the department, while maintaining alignment with Corewell Health's mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, healthcare, business administration or a related field Required.
  • Master's degree in medical Genetics, healthcare, business or a related field Preferred.
  • Three years of clinical experience in oncology, genetics or a related healthcare field Required.
  • ABCGN Board Cert Genetic Counselor (BC-CGC) Preferred.
  • MI Genetic Counselor License Preferred.
