Under the supervision of the Director of Research Development, the Program Manager will both provide technical support for university-wide grants and programmatic support for the Interdisciplinary Research program activities sponsored by those grants. Technical support may include management of interdisciplinary research projects, Pre-Award grant processes,. This position will also oversee and coordinate reporting on Pre-Award. The incumbent will possess both a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to interpret and apply University, College and sponsor policies and procedures. Programmatic support may include the implementation of key initiatives and programs across the research enterprise and collaboration with the OVPR team and its partner organizations to plan, organize, and execute programs while supporting research, project evaluation, and reporting. Essential Functions: Facilitates Interdisciplinary Research program activities: Oversees the day to day running of the I-SPARK program an interdisciplinary initiative of OVPR. Assists Director of Research Development with events that result in formation of new interdisciplinary research teams. Manages logistics and communications for interdisciplinary research teams. Prospects team-specific grants. Represents OVPR at meetings with stakeholders and sponsors, primarily serving as a liaison and ambassador of OVPR. Assists with a warm hand-off between Research Development teams to college, center or post award stakeholders, as appropriate. Documents and curates all project management activities related to creation of new I-SPARK Interdisciplinary Research team. Coordinates all grant activities within Research Development Interdisciplinary Research program as the primary liaison to faculty by providing support in Pre-Award activities such as: Proposal support; point of contact for proposal submissions. Assesses accuracy & validity of submissions. Project management; assists with sending grants for reviews by coordinating with internal reviewers and / or external reviewers. Manages the deadlines and timelines for each project undergoing review. Coordination and submission of progress reports, final closeout and reconciliation. Budget development; developing budgets for pre-award submissions with relevant partners. Database Management; oversees data entry into InfoReady & ERA platforms pertaining to grant submissions & progress reports. At Temple, you will find it easy to fit in while staying true to yourself. Required Education & Experience: Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years of related experience. Certificate in Research Administration (CRA), Master's or MBA preferred. Experience in higher education, particularly in research and/or program/project management. Demonstrated project management experience including grant writing and/or research manuscript preparation. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
